We congratulate our sisters in the National Network of Women Human Rights Defenders in Mexico for winning recognition as women human rights leaders through a Faces for Equality Award granted by the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Relations through Canada’s Embassy in Mexico, and we particularly congratulate women defenders Isela González, of the Sierra Madre Alliance, and Ericka Zamora of the Decade against Impunity Solidarity Network for being award winners.

We celebrate this richly deserved acknowledgement of the vital work of the Network for Comprehensive Feminist Protection of Women Defenders in Mexico and, by extension, the key role played by women defenders in the country.
