We, of IM-Defensoras, call on the government of Ecuador to guarantee the security and integrity of the human rights defenders who are opposing the Pananza-San Carlos mega-mining operation; end all forms of criminalization, harassment and militarization in the area subjected to a state of exception since last December 14th; and respect the right to defend the rights of Ecological Action of Ecuador and other organized civil society groups.
